Major news in the Bartlett household! Amanda is getting married!!! We are so thrilled that Amanda and Andrew (Hall) are engaged. A summer wedding of 2010 is being planned. I can't believe that my baby sister is getting married. I'm just so happy and she couldn't have found a better guy.

On your mark....

Weekend before last Eric and I went up to Chattanooga for Eric to compete in the Chattanooga Waterfront Triathlon. My parents kept Kate and Caroline. Eric started getting into triathlons last summer when a friend asked him to do one with him....thanks alot Paul Register...Anyway, ever since he has been all about the triathlon scene. I think its because he hasn't conquered this sport. Eric decided he'd set his goal to do the Half Ironman in Augusta in September. He has mostly done "sprint" triathlons around the Savannah area but the one in Chattanooga offered a longer course and he thought it would prepare him for whats to come in Augusta.

I was the official photographer for the day and also the carrier of gear. I consider myself somewhat of an athlete, but what these people do is way beyond my league. Here are a few pictures from the race. It was held along the Tennessee River in downtown Chattanooga.

Oh and it was a 1.5k swim, 42k bike, and 10k run.

why is he smiling?!?

I think I'll stick to my favorite hobby...hanging out with my girls!

My new venture

This summer I stumbled upon this company and fell in love with their products. So i jumped on the bandwagon and decided to sell it. I had bought so much of their stuff I thought I might as well sell it! Anyone that knows me, know I hate this kind of stuff...making people feel obligated to buy stuff or even host parties. I've quickly learned that this stuff sells itself. So in my own hands off approach...check out the catalog.

then go to "view our catalog". You can see their kids line, teen line, summer catalog and fall catalog!

To Grandmothers House We Go!

We decided to come visit good ole Powder Springs for the next week a half. We love spending the fourth of July up here and its always nice to get some help with the girls. Kate and Caroline love their Auntie Amanda (Tee-Tee) and of course, Grandmother (Grandmudder). Here are some pictures from the last time they were at my house (which was only two week ago). We don't go very long without seeing Grandmudder!

Strike A Pose...

Last week my mom and my sister, Amanda, came to visit us. It was great having some extra hands around the house. I quickly put them to work. We visited all of our usual hot spots for shopping and then on Wednesday afternoon I really put them to the test. Caroline has never had any pictures professionally done. So I really wanted to take her to get her picture made and I also really wanted some of Kate and Caroline together. Picture day ranks right up there as one of the hardest days for me. It never fails that we have a meltdown either on our way or while getting ready and then when we arrive it is like pulling teeth to get them (well, Kate) to smile. And its just so frustrating because they are such happy kids. They smile and laugh constantly...but something about the camera causes them to be shy.

After bribing Kate and dancing around like an idiot here were the results. Copy and Paste link below to see all the pics:

Once Upon a Blog....

Well we decided to take the plunge and enter into the Blogging World. Since I'm not on any other social networking site I decided this would be the best way for our friends to see recent pictures and see what we've been up to...especially since I live a four hour drive from some of my closest friends. Also, being home a lot this summer I'm going to try to take more pictures of our growing girls.

Summers are when I really appreciate what a great job I have. I coach tennis at Georgia Southern University. I
ts a great set up. I'm basically on the job when school is in session, but when the students are off I kinda am too. On my down time I go recruiting and try to find players for the next year. Its a never ending cycle but it does make for more flexible hours. I'm so blessed to have a job where I can spend so much time with Kate and Caroline. Caroline was born in December, during Christmas break, which was nice, but I really never took any time off to be with her. I was about start up our spring tennis season so I was traveling alot and up at GSU every day. Now that its summer I can finally catch my breath and feel like I'm not in a rat race...well at least not quite as much..

Kate turned 2 in March and she is such a fireball. She is very observant and keeps me on my toes...even when I don't think she is listening or watching I find out that she really was...She repeats the funniest things and seems to be really "with it" for a two year old. She can do all kinds of things that just amaze me every day. I can carry on a real conversation with her, she can dress herself, she can say many words in spanish and even count in spanish..not to mention English. She has been able to say her alphabet for months now and even can tell you who our President is and what purpose our Military serves! She seems to know what everything is from household items to electric work being d
one on the side of the road...we don't know where she gets all of her information.

Caroline has been the sweetest, most easygoing baby. She smiles const
antly and her days revolve around watching Kate and jumping in her jumping swing. At first I thought she and Kate looked a lot like, now she has developed her own little look...well, I say her own look but its her Daddys look!

Here is a recent picture of Eric and I with Kate and Caroline.
